Romania – May 2008 (May 11-21, 2008) This trip has been postponed until 2009!
The Romania Mission Team will be departing in mid May to help facilitate a Servant Leadership Conference near Bucharest. This conference is to train and help facilitate ministries. After the conference, the team will be working with the Teen Challenge Ministry in Bucharest and visiting churches and other ministries in Romania. Our team travels to Romania annually for a two-fold purpose: 1) to encourage pastors and believers in Romanian churches, and 2) to facilitate a Vacation Bible School (need 5 volunteers)in conjunction with a local church and Romanian translators. 3) we also train pastors, spouses, and ministry leaders. Egypt – July 4-14, 2008 –Sunday School Teachers Conference
This team will be partnering for the 5th year with the Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Egypt, to provide workshop presenters for the annual Synod of the Nile Sunday School Teacher Conference. This is a five day conference offering workshops and lectures on a variety of subjects, chosen by our partners to be culturally relevant to Sunday school teachers in Egypt. This same team will present a two day “mini” conference for Stephen’s Children Ministry and their teachers who work with kindergarten age children in the slum areas of Cairo.

Kenya – July

Malawi – July 24 - August 9, 2008 (19 days)
Multi-Generational outreach to Malawi.
Our focus will be running a week-long youth camp for hundreds of orphans who would not have the opportunity to experience such a gift that we in the US take for granted. Not only do we need young adults on our team but high-energy people of all ages who love kids and love putting on camps that glorify Jesus. Our time in Malawi will also include involvement with the World Vision child sponsorship program, visiting the Opportunity International Bank of Malawi, participating in the Ministry of Hope Orphan Centers and Crisis Nursery, as well as a growing partnership with the Ntchisi CCAP Presbyterian Church.

Romania VBS – August 7- 22, 2008
Led by Diane Johansen and Paul & Tatiana Muresan, this is a unique opportunity to serve the Romanian Church and share Christ with young Romanian children. The trip is typically two weeks in length, and includes a fast-paced schedule of ministry opportunities that are scheduled on the itinerary, as well as room to include ministry visits that spontaneously come to our attention while there. Morning devotions keep the team united and encouraged, and focused in prayer for our own personal concerns and those of our ministry. We also have time for sightseeing while traveling to different ministry locations, and time in Budapest while flying in or out of Hungary.

Royal Family Kids' Camp
July 21 - 25, 2008
Royal Family Kids’ Camp is a 5 day residential camp for abused and neglected children in the foster care system. Camp is staffed by committed Christians providing wholesome affection, undivided attention
and unconditional love to children ages 7 through 11.
The primary purpose of Royal Family Kids’ Camps is
to give children a week of positive memories in a Christian environment. Adults model a non-violent,
positive way of life as an alternative to many
of the negative, abusive situations which abused and neglected children have faced.
We need camp counselors (1 counselor to two children) and support staff (helping in various roles such as activities, drama, counselor support). It is a life changing experience. Please contact Bonnie for an application.

Tecate, Mexico
October 2008
Join us for a trip over the border. A multi-generational-cross cultural experience. Our days are filled with building projects for those in desperate need, as well as many hours spent with the 32 boys at a local orphanage. Our teams stay at Rancho La Paloma which is a Christian retreat center that accomodates over 100 people. The center is just 10 minutes from El Mirador community. It is in this community we repair and build new homes and have many established relationships. The orphanage is also just up the dirt road form where we stay. Call Laura Johnson for information. There will be a mandatory orientation meeting sometime early October.

Grand Canyon - Havasupai –
November 22-26, 2008
In fall 2007 St. Andrew's sent 6 members to join with the Veterinary Christian Foundation making the trek down to visit the Havasupai Indians at the bottom of the Grand Canyon. Caring for and giving much needed medical attention to the animals is a way to gain their trust and have communication with them. We will run clinics each day as well as have Bible programs for their children.
